SwissLegal Lawyers' Conference - Return to "normality"

Thanks to the relaxed protective measures, we were finally able to hold our long-awaited - and repeatedly postponed - Spring 2021 Conference last week and meet again in person with our colleagues from all over Switzerland to exchange ideas.

At the Radisson BLU Hotel Zurich Airport, a colorful bouquet of information about the SwissLegal Group and its management, as well as about the positive personnel and structural growth of the law firms and network partners, awaited the participants. Especially worth mentioning is the announcement of the upcoming expansion into Ticino, which is a significant milestone in SwissLegal's agenda and - in parallel to the upcoming IT and marketing projects - will be realized this year.

The technical part was followed by two exciting short presentations, in which Nicolas Vogt (SL Zug), attorney-at-law, highlighted a number of interesting legal issues on the basis of a rather complex criminal law case, while Dr. Leonila Guglya (SL Geneva) gave the participants an insight into her current activities and support of WTO negotiations in the field of e-commerce. The series of lectures was rounded off with a guest presentation by Ralf Rosenow, founder and chairman of Legalligence AG, who took the participants on a journey back in time to the forefathers of today's legal tech products and used practical examples from his many years as a commercial lawyer to show where legal tech can be used sensibly in the day-to-day business of medium-sized law firms in the SME environment - and where it cannot (yet) be used.
Of course, the social, culinary part of the event was not neglected. The joint dinner gave the participants the opportunity to exchange ideas with existing and new colleagues of the SwissLegal family and to establish contacts with other offices.

All in all, the management of the SwissLegal Group takes a very positive stock of the successful conference and at the same time sees it as a symbolic starting signal for a gradual return to "normality".
At this point, special thanks go to the speakers for their additional efforts as well as to the Hotel Radisson BLU and the responsible service team, which ensured a smooth course of events even in these special times and thus - once again - proved to be the ideal hosting partner.
