The Swiss Moot Court 2025-2026 once again brought together law students from Swiss universities for a competition where argumentation, legal mastery, and eloquence are put to the test in conditions close to those of a real courtroom.

This year, Colette Lasserre Rouiller had the honor of sitting on the jury, drawing on her expertise to assess the quality of the participants' pleadings and arguments. Her discerning eye and professional standards enabled her to accurately evaluate the students' performances, while recognizing their commitment and rigor.

A unique opportunity for the next generation of lawyers

The Swiss Moot Court is a real springboard for law students, familiarizing them with the complex exercise of pleading before a jury composed of Federal Court judges, lawyers, law professors, and editors of legal publications.

This exercise allows them to develop essential skills in legal argumentation and analysis, both written and oral, which are indispensable for their future careers.

A well-deserved victory for the University of St. Gallen

This edition once again highlighted the seriousness, commitment, and enthusiasm of the participants. The University of St. Gallen distinguished itself by winning the competition, ahead of two brilliant French-speaking teams from Geneva and Lausanne.

SwissLegal Prize

A “SwissLegal Prize” consisting of the books La société anonyme suisse (3rd ed., Schulthess), Droit des sociétés (Précis Staempfli), International Business Law (2nd ed., Schulthess 2025), and Succession d'entreprise/Unternehmensnachfolge (2nd ed., Dike 2023) written by members of the firm, was awarded to the Lausanne team that came third in this prestigious competition.

SwissLegal, at the heart of training tomorrow's lawyers

At SwissLegal, we firmly believe that passing on knowledge and supporting young talent are essential to the evolution of the legal world. Colette Lasserre Rouiller's involvement as a member of the jury illustrates this desire to support the training of future legal practitioners and actively contribute to their progress.
